Getting confused on water pumps

I have been trying to decide what water pump to get. Have been looking at shurflow.

I see some mention on demand and other don't.

I am looking for a pump that will cut on when the faucet is open and shut off when the faucet is closed.

Any recommendations on what pump to get?

Shurflo 4008 (from memory) seems like a popular pump. It’s pretty reliable, and you can change the top when you freeze it for $16 (whoops!). Only caution is that I used it to empty a 1700 gallon cistern over the course of a week running constantly and it did not survive that.

Thank you. Just looked up that pump and it actually shows cutoff and start pressures. Many I have looked at did not mention that at all. Seems the reviews are pretty good on it too.

I think I would burn out too trying to drain 1700 gallons.

You might take a look at Jabsco pumps as well. They're all over in the marine industry. Mine has a 40 psi shut off. Little more spendy
