Getting ready to "Print" my shower pan
I've got access to a wide format high resolution printer at work.
This was a woodgrain test print I ran back in 2018 https://photos.app.goo.gl/HjcNHFhsD7XRPrHe9
I'm going to print my image on high mil printable vinyl, then epoxy it into my framed shower pan similar to this guy---> https://youtu.be/iUjDC6ub-ow
So, these are the images I've created tonight using High Resolution Wood Grain pictures... (5356 pixels x 3576 pixels)
https://photos.app.goo.gl/CgextCVHxd8HTreE7
any feedback of the images I've gone toward so far
I realize the subject art might not suit some.... but, it suits me just fine
kinda liking this one....
this is a piece of vinyl I epoxied over, back in 2018... still looks like new

Looks awesome, would look better with a bmw logo in my opinion but who likes to be in their power band past 5000 rpm anyway? Seriously though great job

How does the epoxy play with the vinyl? I thought about doing something similar using CNC cut material.
What epoxy resin do you plan to use?
Have you considered printing on clear material like acetate and using wood? I used some Tennessee Red Cedar for a backsplash and it looks spectacular covered in resin

Aren't you afraid it will leave oil in your shower?

The vinyl is not phased by the epoxy, in any way I've found. We print medals monthly.
I'll get a picture of the epoxy when I get back to the shop, hadn't really thought about acetate, but I do have some clear vinyl.

i like the "spotlighted" barn board one. post pics when your done! so your applying the high res vinyl graphics and then epoxying over. Is the vinyl not water resistant? I imagine your using like an automotive vinyl wrap material?

We use Orajet Rapid Air printable vinyl... I guess it’s probably waterproof within its intended use... we print outdoor signs with it all the time, no complaints after 5 years.
I will line a plywood shower pan with the print, and epoxy over everything and up the sidewall
Printed 28x42 today
