Pex to reinforced vinyl

I can’t find a coupler to join reinforced vinyl tubing and Pex. Can the vinyl tubing simply be clamped to the Pex fitting?

please expand on what connection you are trying to make.
reinforced vinyl is like spa hose.
what size are you trying to connect to what size?
what size is your tank inlet and your tank outlet and which one is your problem connection?

find a male barb adapter (that fits your tube) to 1/2", then a 1/2" female to pex.

when i crimp a 5/8"s id vinyl tube onto a 1/2" pex fitting it usually leaks.

make the transition in 2 parts.

I’ve got a male barbed 1/2” NPT outlet on the freshwater tank that I clamp 1/2” ID reinforced vinyl tubing to. Then I want to put a ball valve before the pump, but it’s got male PEX fittings (also 1/2”).

What about crimping 1/2” ID tubing to 1/2” PEX?

Turf has it right, you need to make the connection in 2 parts. A barb fitting that fits your vinyl tubing to a 1/2” ips brass threaded coupling, then a 1/2” pex adapter to threaded into that. Anything else will leak and create problems in the future, especially if you intend to put pressure on it.

to reduce vibration from my water pump, i did floppy vinyl tube on either side of it before i transitioned into pex.

i believe i used a fitting like this for 1/2 to 1/2and it still works fine. forcing a bigger tube on smaller fitting usually leaks. if the vinyl id matches the pex, try it.

Another option for vibration reduction is to use braided stainless supply lines like the ones used for sinks and toilets. They are easily found in 1/2” to fit pumps and pex transition fittings. Rated for pressure as well.

Ok, ditch the vinyl tubing, that not a good spot for that. The piping between the outlet from the tank and the inlet for the pump will see slightly negative pressure (suction) when the pump is running. You want something that is less likely to collapse. You can just put a 1/2” ips ball valve right on the tank outlet, or just use a 1/2” female pex adapter. Vinyl tubing has no place on the pressure side of a plumbing system. You should only use it for the tank fill line.
