Plenty of taste

Sooooo....... I have a 1/2 inch flexi tube running to my 5 gallon Jerry can for my sink setup . I have 3 cans and as soon as I switch one it tastes fine but after half a day it starts to taste like rubber/ plastic the cans are food safe and I tasted the water from a new can and it’s fine is there a specific kind of tubing that will not pollute my water? I think it’s the tubing that is giving the water it’s foul taste

I like water from a rubber hose but not really a fan of vinyl or other compounds. My all time favorite was an old red rubber hose my grandma had. Hard well water and that red rubber hose tasted the best right after bailing hay. You might try pex pipe, you will love the connectors.

1/2" pex would be the way to go. I was planning on the reinforced clear tubing... but now you've got me leaning towards pex as well.

Is it a barbed fitting? Is it removable?

Yes it is barbed and it seems specific to this pump doesn’t seem like a generic fitting
