Always use the right dope.

And before you connect your appliances, do a pressure test. Make sure it can hold 15 pounds for at least a half hour.

After you’re sure the pipe holds pressure, attach your copper tubing to the flare fittings. Attach the propane and do a soap test on the flare connections.

(This post covers several 'sore points' of mine.)
.
I only shop my local-owned businesses.
I shop local because I have a sense of community with local-owned business owners.
They and their cow-orkers know me.
.
The zuck-gates-bezos machine [spit] fails to offer me anything of value... and offends me by its existence.
.
Buying 'on-line' instead of supporting my friends and neighbors... well, that seems a cultural suicide.
.
Part of my shopping experience is finding interesting stuff I did not know I needed.
I might go in the local-owned Farm Ranch Supply for a hitch-pin, but walk out with an out-of-season coat I discovered in 'clearance' or a genset returned because it was too big/small/quiet/noisy/wrong color.
.
I never know.
Fact is, I have a reputation among some staff working the floor.
As soon as I walk in -- pushing a cart I found out in the parking-lot -- I get offers of "We were just about to mark down this ripped bag of dog-food" or "This tool-set is a close-out...".
I collect stuff to share at birthdays, holidays, and in the event of rambling hordes of the shambling undead.
.
Come to think about it, zuck-gates-bezos bear a certain resemblance to rambling hordes of the shambling undead.
One opinion.

Gas piping...

I read the code here in June for sizing the system, the copy of the code I read has a chart based on volume used and distance from the tank.

According strictly to the code I *could* get away with a 3/8" iron trunk line. This accounts for a gas water heater, stove, wall heater and generator based on c.f.m. ratings on these appliances. To see if it might work (as I was skeptical) I temporarily hooked up my generator at the end of a 3/8" rubber run roughly as long as the trunk line would be from the generator in the bus. (8kW, 414cc Honda clone with a Chinese propane carburetor conversion) While it ran it worked good, (it has 1/4" inlet barb), but I found after around 2 hours of running, my lines were coated in frost (at 70 degrees just after dark) AND the gas in my 5 gallon grill tank froze up, resulting in a loss of power at the generator.

I looked for that chart again, but did not find it to show here.

Long story short, bigger propane tank AND bigger trunk line (1/2") WILL be installed in the bus to prevent this, especially in the winter.

ALL the fittings can be found at H*me Cheapo. Black pipe, tees, adapters, flare nuts, unions, caps, gas pipe dope, copper line (3/8 to each appliance), etc.

Hope this helps!
