Walk in Bath Tub

Hi Folks

Doing a conversion on a 67 pass 2004 International 3800 Model with a t444e and got a smoken deal on a Walk-in-bathtub which I think will be killer. Looking for pro's / con's with the more experienced members, Any advice would be appreciated.

Bud

My question is how many gallons of water you will carry? A typical residential tub, if it were 60" x 24" and 8" deep in water is 50 gallons. How big is the tub?

I don't know that I'd fill it (to use as a tub), but as a waterproof base to add a shower curtain over, it might make a great shower setup if you want something a little fancier then just a galvanized trough or something else like it. I'm all for DIY, but if the price is right off the shelf...

A deals a deal, so if the price is right and it fits your floor plan , do it. How big is the unit? Brand, pics?

The downside I see with most "walk-in" tubs are that you need to get in before you can fill it...and have to wait for it to mostly drain before you can get out. That or climb over a much higher side (?).

His plan was to use it as a shower.

Hi Folks thanks for the feedback, I will mainly use it as a shower and sponge bath area, but for $200 I get all the taps and shower wand as well as a tub surround and a bench that allows me to mount it end to end so I still have an aisleway. its going to be a quick install and fits the area. If I ever use it as a bathtub it will be while I have shore hookups on city water or near a river, I am using a Eccotemp FVI-12-LP tankless water heater so it makes sense.
