Water tanks between frame rail

I have been searching for water tanks that will fit between the frame rails on my bus without hanging far below the frame and being short enough to fit between cross members. So far I am having no luck as most of the thinner tanks are also very long. The approximate dimensions I am am looking for are 32 x 20 x 9. I would like to go with two tanks this size for my gray water and be as close to 50 gallons as I can get. I would prefer pre-made poly tanks but I may need to fab some out of stainless steel.

My other option which I don't like is to use one long tank and remove the cross member that is in the way. I think this may be OK if I made several U brakets out of thick ( 3/8") steel that would bolt to the outside of the frame to support the tank and replace the stiffness from the removed cross member. The cross members are spaced about 36 inches apart. With the center crossmember removed there would be a 72 inch span with no cross member. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks

Ted

They have a decent selection, I'm no expert but removing cross members would make me nervous. Hope you find something helpful!
