Window in the shower?

Before I leave the original bus window in place in my soon to be tiled shower, I thought I would ask if anyone who has done this has experienced trouble with mold/mildew or other water issues.

it's not too late to "delete" the window, Id like to leave it in but I don't
want to create a host of problems.

Not something I would do, especially with tile and other labor-intensive and permanent finishes.

My choice was not to delete windows. Consequently, I needed to account for access and things like condensation. My solution was to build my interior standing free from the exterior wall (secured at points in the ceiling). It's a half wall with a clear shower curtain. That gives me air circulation, and more importantly, access to the window to monitor for condensation and leaks.

I see you have built a plywood floor sloping to the drain. What do you plan to use to make it waterproof?

And how will you make the plywood walls waterproof?

The base is a separate piece. I fiberglassed the joints, then did a few resin pours to finish. It was a lot of work and my notes say something like 'just buy a home depot shower pan next time.'

Walls are painted and polyurethaned. The bus is only used for short trips, and the shower is used infrequently, so I didn't have the same design requirements as a full timer.

What worked for me was installing a vinyl window with a waterproof sealant around the edges. This really helped to prevent any water damage and mold growth.

We also made sure the bathroom was well-ventilated to keep humidity levels down. Installing an exhaust fan directly above the shower area did wonders. It's something you might want to consider to help keep the area dry.

As for adding a bit of style while maintaining privacy, I put up an elegant purple shower curtain that complemented the tiles and really made the space feel more personal. It was a simple touch that added so much to the overall vibe of the bathroom.

I like it. I need something like this for my wall with the window. I think a solid piece of plexiglass might be what I need.

I have power and gas lines that run in the space between the shower wall and the exterior wall, so I wanted it easy to inspect. You might consider making your plexiglass somewhat removable if you have similar needs.
