Hey all,

Do you all have any suggestions for which brand is the best for a mini wood burning stove??

Thanks!

How do you intend to use it? Permanent install through the roof, or temporary through the window? I have a Winnerwell that goes through the window and it works well most of the time, but I'm sure a more expensive and permanent setup would work even better.

The Cubics are great little stoves, but all the small stoves come with the drawback of being small...so you'll need to stoke it often. And, as with all wood stoves, you'll probably read that every insurer will ask if you have one and will decline to insure you if you do.

Yes, I’m shooting for a permanent. Thanks for the recommendation though.

You probably do not want to hear this, but there is a good chance you are asking the wrong question.

Yes, wood-burning stoves are idyllic--but they also have many downsides. You may want to consider investing in a diesel heater instead. I lost track of how many times I ignored this advice, but this video was the straw that broke the camel's back:

I put in a stove from TinyWoodStove.com this year and it works great! They are designed for Skoolies, so they actually send you all the pieces you need for the chimney, including curved pieces that match up to the curve in the roof. This is my install here. Despite the small size, it heats the entire bus up. And you can even boil water on top of it.

That video is right on the money. The Chinese diesel heater is the way to go.

And yet there are lots of them out there. Just wondering if people are not being asked (and not offering) about a wood stove, lying to insurers, or not insured.
