Bulkhead fittings for engine driven AC?

We have stock (engine-driven) AC in our bus - two interior units, one in front, one in back. In stock form, the AC hoses ran from under the bus, up through circular holes in the floor. We plan on retaining both, but will need to re-route / lengthen / shorten the lines to fit our reconstruction plan.

Since we have to have new lines made anyway, I'd really like to use bulkhead fittings instead of those large holes. It would eliminate problems with maintaining the large radius bends required otherwise, and make sealing/insulating around them a breeze.

Is this a viable approach?
