Factory air, anyone need one?

My new (to me) bus has two AC units two compressors two controllers.

Question is anyone need one or parts for one?

I plan on keeping one for cooling on the road the other is getting removed. If no one needs it I'll remove it with a sawzall but I can be nicer to it if it's useful to anyone close enough to come get it.

I'm not by the bus and I don't have the specs, it's in a high roof Thomas activity bus mvp

The rear unit is in the middle of the bus and worked before we clipped the wire. It's driven on the serpentine belt and I didn't want to chance it locking up and leaving me stuck somewhere. The other needs work but is driven by it's own separate belt and is the one I'm keeping.

I'd like to see it go to a good home, maybe someone could trade me for a bit of help or knowledge getting the one I'm keeping running well(Christopher I'm kinda looking in your direction)

It'll be a bit before it's out. Thanks to everyone who helps so many people here!

interested, but...

Let's see who else might want this. See if there is some one close to you. But my 54 has no airconditioning provisions and I will put AC in to this bus.

regards, william

I would like it, but being in GA, distance could be an issue.

Whatthefak, I’m in the market for a factory a/c!! Could you post a picture of what you wanna get rid of?

I’m on the road right now, in California however have to pass through your way on the way home to NC. I’ve definitely learned being on the road with just a mini split, it’s not enough while driving.

I'll take some today when I get back over there

I'm keeping the front one for going down the road, but I have two and with added insulation I think one is enough

I will be probably coming across on I-90 but don’t quote me on that. It’s not set in stone yet but will be passing through the state. I’ll let you know something as I get closer. Still have to head north before heading back east.

Looking forward to seeing the air conditioner whenever you make it back out to your Skoolie!!!

That's the unit that worked, not the greatest probably needed a charge. I don't see any way of removing it that will keep the freon.

I even drilled the rivets out of the tin/plastic/idk chase so that's good too if you need it

Maybe someone can help, is there a size on the 3126 for serpentine belt when you don't have an account compressor?

those are nice Trans / AIR units!!

you can measure for a serp belt.. get a flat tape measure.. something like..
https://www.amazon.com/120-Inch-Extr.../dp/B07CJRNFNX

block your spring tensioner nearly all the way into the most pulled back position..

route your tape measure how you believe your belt will route.. pull it pretty tight.. and get the closest 1/2 inch measurement.. becaue your actual belt will stretch out just a bit more than your measurement is why you pull your tension nearly all the way back (not absolutely all the way).

dont try to measure with a regular metal tape measure..

other option if you cant find a suitable belt is to leave the compressor in the engine just with the wires disconnected.. the pulley will spin but wont be compressing anything.. (same as any A/C turned off).

Usually a non A/C belt will be listed as A/C delete. Take your belt and thread into place without the compressor. Measure the over all length and that number will be part of the part number on the belt you need. Any auto parts store should be able to find you a belt that will work without the A/C compressor.

If I had a way to get it reasonably, I'd definitely be interested.

I realize you do, I only offered it as a solution if you cant find a suitable belt.

marc - the A/C delete idea works if the engine is in a truck and only had one compressor in the factory position. but these dual A/C's use asftermarket bracklets.. Trans / AIR usually used red-dot or Bracketry-Systems-inc brackets so the belts wont show up in a factory catalog.. Trans/AIR is still in business and may be able to give you a belt length based on your VIN if you tell them which compressor and location is being kept.. they ,ay have standard length notations in their notes for such.. I have emailed T/A on mroe than one occasion for parts in my Bluebird bus that has factory T/A A/C. and they are very responsive..
