Heater Valves

Hi there,

I have two heater valves in my 2001 International Blue Bird. T444E.

A set of valves in the engine compartment, and a valve next to drivers left leg.

do I close all three for summer time driving? or just the one in the passenger compartment?

Follow the path from the inside to the engine. I'd do the one at the beginning, nearest the engine.

The one next to the driver shuts off the flow to the heaters and defrosters on the left side including all of the heaters in the back of the bus.

The valves in the engine compartment shut off the flow to the heaters and defrosters by the service door.

The one next to the driver is handy for shutting off the heat next to the driver in the afternoons when it gets warm but the mornings still need heat and defrost.

The ones in the engine compartment are there so that you don't get hot water circulating next to you during the summer months.

Just be glad you have the valves. Not all buses have valves that work.

There is nothing worse on a hot afternoon and not being able to turn off the heat directly to your side.

Would it be okay to disconnect the heat box inside if the engine valve is shut? I need to replace the floor underneath it.
