I installed two imported diesel heaters and had issues with both...

I've installed quite a few of the Webasto/Espar clones and haven't had any issues with them...until this pair. I'm sure it was just my time and I was due. I resolved the problem with one (a fan sensor magnet) and was able to narrow down the issue with the other to a bad control board. I made a short video about these, in the hope that it helps someone else:

https://youtu.be/1RWAcIoi7Ic

I am waiting to hear from the seller, to see if I can get them to send me a new control board. They did say that if I buy a new control board, they'll reimburse me. I cannot find an exact version of this control board on ebay, though.

Just this past week or so someone posted a link to a older guy who really explained the details on how those things work. I watched all 11 parts and came away feeling a lot more confident about installing and troubleshooting diesel heaters. I bought 2 a while back and I'm going to be installing one soon due to the weather change. I can't find the link ,and I thought I followed him (YouTube). He was very thorough in his testing and measurements as well as telling what to look for and what to avoid.

The lower heater appears to be upside down. When mounting these CDHs on their sides the glow pin must remain uppermost, otherwise it may become fouled by unburnt fuel and/or become sooted up. I have my bus's bedroom CDH mounted on its side, but in the same orientation as your upper heater, and it works perfectly.
