Tuning a Diesel Heater for High Altitudes

So my bus has a Chinese Diesel Heater, and it's very economical to run, and I love refilling it with a fuel can instead of lugging around a propane tank, but I had issues with it sooting up/clogging and then it would stop working. There are lots of solutions on the internet, and even more armchair experts, but I decided to actually do the testing myself with a CO monitor, and figure out what is actually going on.
