water tap - on or off ?

Hi, everyone.
Can someone tell me if this tap of the heating is on or off? I want to remove the 2 heaters in the room. Do I have to connect the 2 hoses to have a warm heater on the front of the windshield?

Thanks

Valves like that (ball valves) almost always are ON when the knob is in line (parallel) with the piping, and OFF when cross-wise (perpendicular) with the piping. This valve is ON, allowing fluid to flow through the piping.

That surprises me. Because the heater doesn't get hot.

There are likely two valves in the engine compartment. In and out for heater supply.

And...keep in mind that this valve is just the summertime shutoff to keep heat from leaking into the passenger compartment. Somewhere else, beneath the dash usually, there's another valve actuated by a push/pull wire connected to the temp control knob or lever. If that's disconnected or broken, it can stay in the off position. I've also seen them actuated by a solenoid instead of a manual cable connection and those, too, can remain closed if the solenoid (or the wires to it) fail.

I found two valves in the back. It's a 2004 Bluebird All American with 8.3 Cummins. I'll check the levers up front. Does anyone know if it works to remove 2 heaters and keep them in front?

The valve is open, always tell the apprentices, think of it like a gate. Cross ways closed. Before the valve looks like a pneumatic valve, they stick , or not on ,which is why no heat. An there is a return valve which has to be open
