Security Cameras

Hello all, just looking for a few suggestions for security cameras on my Skokie. I've thought about Ring and Nest, but I was wondering if anyone else has some suggestions? I just want to keep myself and my pup safe.

How easy are they to Install?
Are they wireless/hard wired/plug in?
Can I monitor them on my phone?

I've recently had an experience which has made me more aware of the lack of security in my bus. And I'm not even even my bus yet!

Thank you all for any suggestions!

You can look at Security as an open field, with many directions that you can go.

The varying degrees that you might take to achieve "your" security are likely going to be based on: your budget, your desires in it's component makeup, having time to research different systems, and lastly, who does the actual installation.

Wired systems seem to be more reliable and robust for bus use.

Good luck...

I don't mean for this to sound like a "use the search function" snipe. And I readily admit that the search function here doesn't always give me the results I'm looking for. But I'm on my phone and I do remember there was a recent thread about DVR and camera options. I know I'd provided info on one that will run off 12V. I'm sorry I can't look it up for you right now. Hopefully you will find it!

I installed 2 ezviz c3wn 720p cameras in my bus on the rear engine door as my toad / rear security cameras. They are wifi / cat 5 and 12 volt via a wall wart. I hardwired them via cat 5 to the system in the bus and cut off the wall wart and connected to my 12 volt system. They were cheap about 40.00 ea and work good enough. I have a 19" monitor above the drivers seat and a HP elite desk mini g3 that it runs on. If the bus is connected to the internet I can view them on my phone away from the bus. I installed 3 of them about 2 years ago on the property and they have withstood the wind, rain, snow and the heat so far. One is hardwired cat 5 and the other 2 are wifi. The hard wired one works the best. I plan on 2 more on the bus to cover the sides and front door. There are much better systems out there but this works for now.
