1994 GMC shorty for 500 Buckeroos = steal
Just bought this for 500 skinnys. I'm stoked.
1994 GMC Thomas 3500 Vendura, 350, auto trans, runs and drives nice.
oh man, just noticed to post any pics is a pretty outdated and user-unfriendly set up. Maybe later, dunno.

there are plenty of upgrades for your motor and trans that i would do even if i didnt live in the rockys but i do alot of towing.
tranny wise some can be done while in and some cant.
motor wise is the same.
do you have mechanical knowledge and tools or will you be learning along the way?

Plenty of mechanical experience, worked 10+ years as my first career. Ford dealership mechanic, did it all. I'm a GM/Chevy guy though.
The 350 has 110k on it, it's slow and doggy but I think the cat converter is clogged. I'm going to pull it off soon.

i am not the one for answering the pic thing?
for your powertrain.
in my area i dont have to do emissions or safety inspection on anything over 30 years old.
if you have something like that then i would cut the cats out or rod them out.
if you keep replace the cats then you really dont need the muffler even to pass emissions.
almost been a mechanic my entire life except for time in the marine corp.
i chose that instead of my ASE test but have always been ford for work and chevy for play.
except now i have an 04 shorty bus with a 6.0 in it i am building for my wife and her travelling job so am trying decide how far i can go with it with her approval.
raised my sons up mechanicing and one is a ford mechanic now and the other is working his way though a 90 thunderbird super coupe but thats combo is more because of my oldest is a ford mechanic so i can get exact ford documents for it.
but he has finished his welding class and started working with me part time and them part time as a lube tech.now but as soon as some of my new jobs start he is a structural welder and we have to rent a storage unit for his 3000 pounds of tool box to go to. but be available because we have our share of driveway mechanics besides bus stuff as well to help friends and aquatences or whatever you want to call them.
sometimes they just show up?
sorry i went down that rabbit hole?
rv cam
shift kit in tranny
open the exhaust
including headers
if you want either a bigger carb like a holley 250 still 2 barrel or change intake to 4 barrel or even the cheapest is an EFI from FITECH but requires you to be able to moniter each exhaust bank if you lose the combiner/crossover tube.
one O2 sensor?
everything i do is complete dual exhaust and welded solid
i didnt go EFI on my 77 because of that?
that was 4-5 years ago? maybe they are better now?

I just cut the cat off today, lol. I'll pick up a 3" straight pipe. That damn' cat weighs about 40 pounds, jezzus, lol.
The bus has been sitting and didn't run for 2 years so I'll cover all the basics first (fluid changes, plugs, wires, filters, etc) I was shocked it fired right up on a shot of ether. After I cleaned the bird nest out off the top of the intake. I drove it home (approx 10 miles or so)
I'm unsure what type of tests can be wrong to check the computer stuff. It's a 1994. I'll have to look it up and see if any codes are present.
EGR removal will be next as it idles rough and seems to bog down. It's an old vacuum-operated one...might just put a plate over the intake opening for it.

block off the EGR, delete the charcoal canister and find and fix any intake carb vaccum leaks.
an old school vaccum/fuel pressure guage hooked to the carb will help you get everything dialed in.
rough idle could be several things but i would start vaccum and timing wise.
