2000 International FE Amtran

Just picked up our new bus yesterday. First row of seats are gone. 2000 International Amtran DT466 w/ Allison 643. Governed at 65 and will easily do it. Need to adjust the idle up a little. Anyone know how to do it? Haven’t had a chance to get to it yet. Excited to get our build started.

Our 97 Amtranwith the same drivetrain has a high idle knob. Look for a star-shaped knob with a red button in the middle. You push the button, and it unlocks the knob and you slide it out (like and old-school choke lever). You can also just turn the knob clockwise/counter-clockwise and it'll micro adjust the idle.
Yours may or may not have a setup like this, I dunno.

You are exactly right. Dt466E. So. How would I increase the idle? It sits at about 550-600 rpm and at around 700 it smooths out. Currently it shakes and is obnoxious when you stop but ran fine 160 miles to get it home. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you changed the fuel filters?
If they are real dirty, could affect idle.

The 2000 am Tran does shake violently at low idle, just the way they are. No matter what u do they shake. U can use your cruise control to rev it up when warming the bus, but they’re really not set up to manage the idle unless u reprogram the ECM.
