2001 Thomas Matthews Book Mobile

Wanted to buy another MH but my teens convinced me to do a BUS!

Well, I have the skill set and desire so this 32 ft book mobile followed me home. Can I keep it?

It terrifies me I cant find insurance! Tried them all even had Progressive for 3 weeks... I assume ALL OF OUR BUSES will be valueless in the future if they are uninsurable. My bus was never a school bus, has a kitchen area and bathroom from new.

I am a solid no tickets/accidents/multiple home owner/never a claim guy. I assume it will become a tiny house somewhere...

NOT A LOGICAL DECISION on my part. My 1999 class C was $42/yr full coverage on my auto policy. I DONT THINK WE HAVE A FUTURE WITH THESE BUSES! PS I am a vermonter dont know if that matters, but I see no members on the skoolie map from here.

No worries, most of us had some problems in the beginning. It will work out. Talk with the agent that insures your house and vehicle. If the agent is good they will find the right lingo to get it insured.

nice bus.I like short with rear engine.

good luck, j

Welcome!

Very good looking bus.

No idea what the paint job is about but looks great to me.

Kitchen and bathroom already in so you are almost an rv now rather than a bookmobile.
Book mobile were a good thing but how relevant these days.
Maybe just restore it for nostalgia, a museum piece perhaps, collector item type vehicle.
Perfect for a buildout too, decisions, decisions...
Good luck, give us more details on engine etc,

John

photos

been busy with the bus and life, well here are my photos!

54,000 miles it says, fun to drive, little scary as I get used to it.

Past 6 weeks I added 9 windows (book mobiles dont have em!) I bought on ebay, about 80 buckes each.

SO PAINFULL to remove the interior, but it was not useful! Hope to reuse a lot of the shelve etc... and give my wood working neighbor the remainder. I think it's maple? plywood.

Already wired up and a 12kw generator installed that has a leak but operates.
