A bus for us

Hi all,
My wife and I recently bought a bus to turn into a camper/RV/Motorhome. We've done a lot of research leading up to the purchase we made. Perusing this forum and following links that led all over the internet helped us to base our purchase around the power train first with everything else being secondary to that.

The bus is a 1998 Thomas Saf-T-Liner with the Cummins 8.3 6CTA-250 with the MD3060. It has 117k miles and 7900 hrs on it.
The previous owner let me draw an oil sample to send to Blackstone Labs prior to our purchase.

When buying a bus in Iowa, rust is sure to be part of the package, but I read a few horror stories about travelling to states with rust free busses and having them fail to make the trip home.

We decided to buy this bus and deal with the rust issues, rather than risk something like that. We may come to regret that decision, time will tell.

Thank you all for participating in such a sharing community, freely giving information and ideas to others.

Paul & Shelley

Welcome!

I am jealous of your driveline. I'm very partial to Thomas busses myself.

I hope you find that rust isn't a big issue, and that your bus makes you happy.

Now you need to post some pictures!

Welcome to the madness!
Jim
