Just thought I would update the progress of the paint job. I just have to paint the black lines between the colors and this side should be done.

That looks a little like a test patch for a paint store. Partridge family reborn.

What I like about that is I'd be able to spot your bus going down the freeway. I seem to have picked a more common dark and menacing color.

LOL! I never looked at it like that way before (test patch for a paint store).

One of my friends said I would never lose it in a parking lot. I have a bright blue truck that I find is bright enough to provide for a good sight in parking lots as well.

It's kind of a Picaso camoflauge. Dang that's a lot of sanding isn't it? Ugh.

Yes, it is a lot of sanding. I have an orbital sander and a detail sander for the areas the orbital sander can't get.

In addition to sanding the original paint I have to sand the first coat in order to get the second coat to stick. Luckily I can do just a section or two at a time rather than the whole area since I'm only painting a section or two at a time.

That's a cool paint job. Everyone always asks me if I'm going to paint it like the Partridge Family lol. You're doing a really nice job.

Thanks tobeamiss. You wouldn't believe how many times people suggested painting it like the Partridge Family bus AFTER I already decided on it so it seems to be working out well.

I also had several suggestions to paint in like a psychedelic Magic Bus. I'm afraid that would be way too much work.

I have a friend in MO who suggested the Magic Bus paintjob for mine, because "That is SO you!"

But when I asked if I could park it in his driveway when I came to visit, he said he'd be happy to meet me at a nearby restaurant.
