Anyone familiar with a seller in Warrenton, MO?

HI Everyone-I am happy to make my first posting here! Reading the forums has been very educational and I want to thank the experienced people who take their time to educate us newbies!
My husband and I are thinking of purchasing a 40' RE Blue Bird with a 8.3 Cummins engine and allison trans.
It has less than 90k miles, fleet owned. We are heading to Missouri on Friday to check it out in person and I was wondering if anyone is familiar with the seller Jason in Warrenton, MO?
I just spoke with him on the phone and he sounds legit, just wanted to see if anyone has bought from him in the past.He is asking $13K which is more than we wanted to spend (especially since we need to replace 4 rear tires), but we will try negotiating!

Yeah 13K is crazy, especially since you know it needs tires. Right now there is a huge boom in Skoolie buying and selling. Some people are trying to take advantage of that and this prices seems to be one of those cases.

Thank you for the replies. It is a lot of money-if it checks all the boxes, we will push him to get a better price. Having the RE, and the Cummins/Allison combo we were looking for in a low mileage rig less than 6 hours drive from home makes it worth more to us. But needing to spend nearly $2k on tires that has to come off the top before we even start negotiating.
He has several good reviews on Ebay.
I am grateful for any other input from those of you who are more knowledgable than we are! Thanks

Sounds like it could be this one ebay dealer that is always selling those GSA buses. FYI you can bid on those buses yourself, no need to pay a middleman. Look up GSA government auctions, there's a site where they list the buses. Usually there's auctions a couple times a year.

For $13k you can buy a nice already-built RV, of course it has fake wood.

Or for $35k more, get this masterpiece with real wood and slide outs and 330hp.

13K seems rather high to me. What year model is it? For that price, I would expect a bus that is less than 10 years old, with good tires, and with factory air conditioning.

Don't let "fleet maintained" sound like a perk. Few individuals buy a bus brand new from the factory, so they're all "fleet maintained". My bus was maintained by Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland, and there is a lot of mismatched hardware.

Typically, school systems are in a rush to get them "fixed" and back on the road as fast and cheap as possible. They also aren't known for having the best pay scales.

Look around the forum, you'll see a lot of people get their bus for under 5K.

8.3 is a nice engine. (what trans?).. even for 7500 that bus should be in perfect working order and have tires you can go run for a few years..

$13K is WAY too much. be patient. Your bus will come along. If you got that much to blow, look for one that is $5000 and spend another $1500 in fuel and airline tix, and still save 50% ($6000). Then put those $6Gs into the buildout. Don't have time to fly? Pay someone $500 to drive it home for you. Still save major buck.



Got mine for $2285 out the door. Really nice bus with good tires and no rust.
