Beginning a Wild Journey Home

Hey y'all! Long time (~2yr) lurker, first time poster

Finally on a mission for the perfect bus for my son and I. I'm a singla mama with a 12 month old adventure buddy.

Looking forward to joining the incredible Skoolie community I've been admiring for so long

&& Starting with a tradition of "Should I buy?" Questions...

There's a local party bus nonprofit that's unloaded most of their buses, and they've got two left just a couple vins apart (Hi, Matty, if you see this! ;)

Both are 39’ 1998 International DT-466E / AmTram conventional sourced from the wealthiest school district in town, no rust at all. One has 177k, another 181k miles. Transmissions are Allison MT643.

WEhat do you think of this combo for a full-sized (potentially roof-raised) skoolie?
I've heard a lot about how great the Cummins are. This International/Navistar DT-466E I'm unfamiliar with.

The seller is a pretty neat guy and knows a lot about these buses - but, he's selling 'em, so I thought I'd check with the geniuses here. Would you pay $5k?

Also been checking this girl out, she's near my neck o' the woods as well:
