Talking Both Feet - no fins.

We don't think that I ever do things... normal.

The plan, for several years, was to purchase a nice heavy sailboat, and cruise. After careful consideration we’ve determined that the daily maintenance on a hole in the water didn’t provide a significant benefit over what a Skoolie would.

(And a considerable decrease in risk of drowning and or shark attack.)

So choosing a Skoolie, we are automatically in a sub-population. i.e. not ‘normal’. Please note that I say that with affection. I have found time and time again, the more narrow your interests, the more fascinating and rewarding the people and experiences. Mainstream is boring.

With inspiration like FernTheBus, Rolling Vistas and similar smaller Skoolies, we set out to find one.

What we found, and just took possession of, falls between a Skoolie and a metro and a shuttle. Do we belong here? Are we too far out from the sub-group of Skoolies? I don’t think so, we’re just less normal. Or would that be more normal.

We just took delivery of a 2001 22+2(ADA) passenger 28’ Startrans President. Essentially it's a Ford F53, which is a Motorhome, but the body is all transport bus.

We are both terrified, and excited, and humbled.

His name is Hobbs TheBus.

well.......

I think you found a place to talk about living/using busses. Doesnt seem to matter much what kind of bus.

living in a bus an doing up the interior of a bus will present much of the same problems as living in a sail boat.

welcom and howdy. glad you got to meet me.

welcome.
a bus is a bus there are many versions that are different from the factory.
but once we are all done with our own ideas of how to build our skoolies to our own ideas and specs then there will never be a skoolie exactly the same as the other and you wont have to worry about sinking if you put a hole in the floor and its alot quicker to dive under and check before you do.
welcome and have fun.
