Bought us a Workhorse!
My wife and I just bought a 2001 Workhorse P32 8.1L with 67k miles on it!
We flew out to Florida to check it over (the flights were only $15 a person!) then drove it from Fort Myers, Florida to MN and thankfully didn't run into any issues.
Ever since getting to MN we've been so excited we've already started tearing it down! I guess it technically isn't a Skoolie but can't wait to start our bus conversion adventure!

Welcome! Looks like a cool rig. How was the gearing for highway driving?

It was our first time driving a bus so we didn't know what to expect. It drove well. We kept it in overdrive the whole time and I only downshifted while going down a slight hill a few times just to get comfortable doing so. I was able to get up to 78 mph on the speedometer then got too nervous and mainly kept it around 65mph. We later found that the speedometer is about 4mph higher than our actual speed

It was owned by the local Florida teen challenge, they would use mostly for shorter spurts but said they would occasionally make a 1 - 2 hour trips in it.

I really like these.. in my opinion with the service door behind the front seat and the nice large windshield, these give a nice motorhome feel right off the bat..
one word of advice dojt rip out the A/C if you plasn to drive in the summer..

I like the workhorse models because they run the 8.1 with the allison trans.. im not a fan of ford transmissions at all. so the startrans chassis was kind of out for me

Thanks, yes its body is manufactured by Goshen.
For other info on the bus the vin # will pull up Workhorse P30, some pull up a workhorse P32, and https://vincheck.info/free-vin-decoder pulls it up as a Itasca Suncruiser. Any advice out there on why that is?

Thanks for the advice! I'm nervous to touch the A/C, it has great A/C and no heat, which would be great in Texas but not Minnesota. I just took out the floor condenser yesterday and had to cut the tubes going into and out of the condenser, I'm nervous to start the bus back up in fear of the fluid squirting out of that area, could I get by by connecting those tubes together so things still flow smoothly?

Yes, shorten and double back the coolant line. You could even run an additional cooler for additional cooling if you choose. I really like the size of your bus. It seems big enough, but also small enough to go anywhere.

That’s one sweet looking ride! Congrats!
Don’t forget to get in serviced ASAP. If you take care of it it will take care of you!
