Im looking at kitchen cabinets and it looks like most affordable one have wood fronts and the rest is particle board will they hold up in a bus

Ours have held up fine for the past year of travel, and we travel some pretty gnarly forest service/blm roads. I've been pretty surprised, frankly, because I have pretty low regard for particle board. We got unfinished cabinets from your friendly neighborhood Big Box home improvement store (dunno what brand, but they all seemed pretty much the same quality). These are base cabinets with particle board carcass and oak fronts. We don't have any wall cabinets, so I can't speak to that. We haven't done anything special to them, just painted them to our palette.

Thanks I know a lot of people have used Ikea cabinets there built the same cheaper fronts though.
I agree on a scale of 0 to 1 practical board is around - 0

I went with Baltic Birch plywood for my cabinets. It's more work, and VERY heavy, but I'm getting exactly the layout I want. It looks fantastic and will last forever.

Thanks! I would have but when COVID-19 shutdowns hit I dropped off the plans, the bus and a giant pile of material at my father's house so he'd have something to do while social isolating. He's doing an amazing job and I'm jealous that I can't be doing it with him.

Of course, on the other hand, it's getting done way faster than I would have done it (I have to work every day and he's retired) so I'm jazzed!
