Converting a *gasp* not school bus

I’m converting a freightliner mt-55 Stepvan. The body is an aluminum box truck. It’s coming along and I don’t have anyone to talk to about it so I’ve come here to make some friends

I’ve put 60 hours into the conversion so far and around 9000 dollars. Cost is okay because I have a bulletproof 5.9 liter Cummins turbo diesel with an Allison transmission.

There are 12 volt sources all over the place and I’ll have two 110 volt sources for appliances and other such things.

I think it sounds cool but I'm into anything that is unconventional. In some respects it would be an easier conversion than a school bus, for one thing no seats to remove.

Welcome!

We are an open minded group We'll probably let you stick around

Sounds like a sweet step-van. Great drivetrain.

When you get 5 (?) posts up you will be able to post some pictures for us and we do love to see pictures of what you have going on.

Have fun!

I did post pictures but here is another link https://m.imgur.com/a/QJSJvIc

I didn’t have to remove seats, that’s true, but I have done that before. My best friend converted an old school bus and we ripped out 20 seats or something with a die grinder. I installed wooden studs and insulation and plywood sheathing in mine so it has been a hefty project
