Family of 7...is it realistic?

Hi Everyone!

We are new to the Skoolie site and are just starting to seriously consider the idea. We are longing for simplicity, minimalism, and a deeper family connection. We have a family of 7; my husband and I, D10, D8, S8, D7, & D5. I did some research about the family of 9 (now 10?) that live and travel in their skoolie. I'm sure there are others out there and would love more input. We would have ours parked at a friend's farm most of the time we plan to live in it.

Thanks so much!

Would strongly recommend getting a full size 40 ft school bus or even a motorcoach (if you can afford it) with that kind of a group going full time.

The biggest I've personally met was a family where both adults had kids from previous marriages, and they had as many as 6 kids with them at any given time. They had a 38 ft TC2000FE, and made 2 sets of 3 bunks at the rear of the bus for kids.

As long as privacy is not a concern, why not? You planning on living full time in it?
Things will be tight especially on rainy days that the kids aren't in school, unless you end up with the bus in post#4!
Hopefully your farm friend has a place in his barn to give you all more 'space'...

Welcome 7. If you can come to next year's Skooliepalooza in western AZ, you'll be able to tour busses that full time with many children.

I traveled for a few months with a family of 7 who lived in one 36 ft flat nose bus. The oldest child had just turned 16 so they helped her purchase a bus so she could have privacy/a room of her own, but up until that point they had been comfortably living in one bus.

I'd HATE to be a pubescent or adolescent kid living in a school bus with the whole fam.
Sometimes you need a bit more privacy.
