Final jumped and no looking back!

Hey Everyone,
Heard this was an awesome resource for converting, you guessed it, a school bus. I am starting with a slightly different platform and goal than I have seen others do so i have a lot less to do. Lemme explain:
So i have a 1992 Thomas chassis with the Brazilian 6.6L in it. The previous owner left around 8ft of front bus cab, flatbed chopped the back, and then refitted the rear section to mate up with the chopped cab to retain the original door. Along with traveling my life is motorcycles and offroad toys as I am co-owner of a motorcycle shop here in Alaska.

Me and HalfCab (his transformer name if he were one) are out to travel again and rip some dirt.

First question if you've read this far: sealing the roof prior to coating with the flexible r.v. stuff. Also interior floor sealant that helps prevent future rusting as like everyone got a little in the corners. Thanks all and am super excited about the new journey.

FWIW the floors get rusted because the bus leaks (and/or kids track in water and salty snow) and the plywood soaks the water up and holds it against the steel floor. So the main way to keep the floor from continuing to rust is to stop the leaks - and don't let any wet kids on the bus.

Yeah I'm sure the little rusting is where they seemed it and didnt quite get it sealed up.
My question was as to what brand sealers work well. Something with a rust inhibitor for the floor and wanted to make sure there is nothing that will mess up that white flex coat from sticking. Maybe the white dealer would do all the work.
Really cool people on here actually reply and are nice. Another forum people were just dicks about stuff.

Cool bus you got there Halfcab .
I use Dominion brand seam sealer where needed and also polyurethane for things like re sealing windows. Both when well cured can be painted. Also marine sealants like Sika flex 291 or 3M 4200 are fantastic and work great as bedding compounds for mounting fixtures or sealing joints.
Good luck with her
Stay safe and have fun

Thanks Oscar1. I had seen some of those and that confirms what I had been looking at.
I'm new to this forum stuff. I'll leave other questions for a build thread or searching what I'm sure has been done hundreds if times. Was trying out the whole message reply thing.

Again thanks all and look forward to meeting some of you out there. Stay safe
