First Bus, First Post

Hello everyone,

Haven't lurked around long, but already absorbed a ton of info. Hope to get my project underway quickly.

Three weeks ago, while camping, I brought up the idea to my wife of buying a school bus and convert it into a motor home to sleep in and pull our toys. It took about a week for my wife to be on board and now here I am making my first post after buying out first Skoolie. Did a little research and believe I found a good bus to start our fun project (no backing out already paid for it). 2003 Bluebird AA, RE, 8.3L Cummins ISC, MD3060, AZ bus, 40ft, with rooftop AC. I'm picking it up this week, hope it's not too hot to start riping it apart..

Wow, three weeks from random idea to owning a bus is pretty impressive (I think I was two months or so). Your purchase was OK ... if getting about the best possible bus to start a skoolie with is just "OK". Hopefully you at least paid way too much for it.

Thanks for the positive encouragement. Honeslty I feel I paid too much but some times you have to pay a bit more to get what you want now rather than later. You never get more time in life, but you can always make more money. If your wondering how much I paid (I always wonder what people paid) I paid 6k after auction fees and it's a 45min drive to pick it up. It was cheaper than buying from a local used bus dealer so I cannot complain too much...

Forgot to add 5.38 rear diff. and 172k miles..

Just got back to the house. Ran great, no issues and came with 3/4 tank of fuel! Nice little bonus since it's a 100gal fuel tank. Also I wasn't supposed to be charged tax so $500 is coming back to me! Once it cools down today I'll start pulling seats.
