Gecko the skoolie build

Hey guys and gals!! I am woodworker here in Southern California and I have always had a dream of building a skoolie. I never thought that I would own one right now but I placed a priority bid at my local auction and to my surprise, I won the bus! So as of now, my plan is to gut it, sub floor, get beds, bathroom, and running water in it so i can do the vin inspection and "TRY" to see about getting the title transferred to an RV in California. I have a couple other options of registering it at a friends house in Arizona and last option will be the Vermont loophole. I have already pulled the seats out an started pulling up the sub floor.

It is a 89 International DTA-360 with 132K original miles.

Ironically enough, Geico will not insure you. Maybe you could name your bus "Awlstate".

Welcome to skoolie.net. If you click User CP you can fill out your profile details, and then everyone here will know where you're at and what species of bus you have.

Rather than trying to deal directly with DMV in Ca. make use of a private licensed vehicle vin verifier. They know exactly what needs to be done and won't give you a bunch of bureaucratic nonsense. Fortunately my little skoolie came with a Utah RV title but my big MCI 9 prison bus sure didn't so I went the private route.

I found a registration person and she is looking into it for me!! She does this all the time and she said there is a slim chance but we are going to try. She told me to send her a photo of the emissions label. She also does registration for Arizona so i can go that route also.
