Greetings from a new bus owner in Georgia
Hi everyone. I just picked up a 2009 International CE300. I got it from a govdeals.com auction. It has no rust and is in very nice shape for the 75,500 miles on the odometer. I was able to check it out before the auction ended so I knew what I was buying and was willing to fork out a little extra dough since it wasn't going to need anything for repairs. I paid $6500 + 5% in all. The bus was part of the Leeds City Schools fleet in Leeds, AL. The guy listed as the contact was super helpful and accessible so the whole experience was very pleasant. I drove the bus 1.5 hours back to my buddy's farm in Buchanan, GA where it will live during the build. I am in Alpharetta so it is quite a haul to go there to work on it as much as I can. Having a full time job and owning my own business means there are not many free weekends per month.
I picked it up on Friday March 16 and the next day the seat removal commenced. It was a bit of a learning curve but we figured out the best way and by Sunday afternoon the seats were out. We did not work too hard and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Lots of my friends are interested in what I am doing and recruiting them to help should be pretty easy as some have some real fabrication skills. I am looking forward to this adventure and being a part of the community.
