Been lurking on here awhile. Finally Joined. From Central Ohio, my wife and I have 6 kids (yours, mine, ours, other peoples, etc). Our 15 year old is special needs (Autistic, non-verbal, mentality is 2-4 years old) and he loves school buses. We purchased our first school bus in 2011 - we learned a lot from building it. It was a 1999 International 3800 with a DT444 and the AT545 transmission. While it was nice, it wouldn't pull much more than 55 MPH on the high way. While looking for a new rear end, I ended up purchasing our second school bus. A 2001 International 3800 with a DT466e and an Allison 5 speed. We were able to sell the '99 and I have done a lot of mechanical work to the '01 - changing the rear ratio from a 5.38 to a 4.44. The '01 is happiest around 70 mph now.

I also have purchased 7 home theater faux recliners. We're building it more for road trips not really "camping." Excited to share and get ideas. Below is out first conversion (WHITE) and our new bus below (Still Yellow).
