Buying a 43 ft 2007 Thomas snub nose puller with a cat C7 already has seats pulled and not much rust so I'm really excited about the bus and embarking on this new journey! At the moment I hit my first challenge getting the bus home specifically securing insurance to be covered for the trip. My first call was my state farm agent they can help once conversion is done but not now.

Is it a C2?

If you currently have State Farm insurance, did they fail to tell you that you are insured in any vehicle you buy for 7 days to get it home, Even though they won't insure it in it's as is state.

my nationwide is the same way except i get 10 days but i have never had an issue with getting insurance with just a VIN number boom insured as bus for personal use on a commercial policy.
have driven 2 home now without tags.

Not the engine, the model of bus, is it a C2? Is it a C2 or a Vista?

You need to tell your agent you want insurance for a "commercial vehicle for personal use". Not all of them know about this specific option, especially if all they do is small cars and trucks. They might not give you "full coverage" (or maybe they will!) but you at least get liability to be legal to drive.
