Hello from Arkansas

Just purchased my 1999 Blue Bird with a 5.9 Cummins and 187K miles for $1,500. Gonna start with making the Cummins more powerful (programmer, lift pump, bigger injectors, boost elbow....) gonna install a tranny cooler also before I get started on the inside. Pretty mountainous (sp?) around here and don't want the skoolie bogging down on trips. Been lurking a while and have gotten some really great ideas from the site...thx!

Welcome,

Sounds like you got a nice buy on your bus.

A couple of tips. The programmers made for the 5.9 Dodge will not work on your bus. Dodge uses a different computer than the medium duty applications. Also, you probably have the AT-545 transmission. Be careful how much power you try and feed it. If you want to make 250hp or more, definitely plan on a transmission swap to either an MT-643 or 2000 series.
