Hello from Canada

Hello all!

Moderate time lurker, but figured its best to join the community as I'm now on the hunt for the perfect bus to purchase and convert.

Of course like others I'm having difficulty finding sellers in Canada. I'm in Ontario but can and will travel anywhere domestic for the right bus. US.. will consider if someone can handle importing nonsense/ or knows a good importer.

Also hoping to meet other like minded people online local ish to me and maybe even some builders along the way as I'm disabled and won't be able to do some of the more heavy / physical work.

Looking for a type d bus (flatnose), front engine under 28 feet (shorter the better), hydraulic brakes with a wheelchair lift. Plan is to turn it into a RV with hand controls, and also a tow rig for my tractor. It will see 95% highway use and needs to be reliable.

Suggestions, advice and what to avoid is warmly welcomed. Thanks for reading!

Welcome from snowy and altogether miserable-today Alberta, Dan! I'd regularly keep an eye on what comes up on GC Surplus. That's where I scored my 1990 Navistar with just over 44,000km on the clock from Wainwright base back in 2021.

There are lots of busses in Canada from all the school districts, just call around. Most districts sell to 3rd parties so they don’t have to deal with end users. Here are a couple
