Hello from Los angeles

Hi all!
Bought a 5 window school bus for a summer road trip. I’ve scoured these forums long before I bought the bus in may, and keep coming back as I build mine out. Thank you all for your contributions. It’s been incredibly helpful.

Also, someone in the neighborhood told me Kodak posted this of my bus- thought I’d share. Kinda fun. If you look too closely, you’ll see a removed bus seat in the background. Not ideal for a glamorous photo- but it shows work being done!

Ah yes, California, the land of fruits and nuts where the trees and bushes talk, ". . . pssssst! Hey buddy - come'ere, I got somethin' for ya!"

Welcome to the nuthouse, you should fit right in.

Thanks for the welcome!!
I’m getting dangerously close to my first road trip with friends in the bus. It’s been a really busy 5 weeks- where I’ve called in favors from just about everyone I know to help me out. One neighbor sewed me seat cushions, another helped remove seats. Woodworkers have helped me out- a friend designed and welded a hinged table to bed for me. In short- there’s a lot of people dreaming of jumping on a school bus & I’ve been amazed at how wonderful everyone has been. You all are on to something quite special.
Living in the heart of the city- I was worried neighbors would really hate me having a bus. But I’ve accommodated as best as I can and they have all been terrific.

Here's a few quick photos. So much more to get done, but it's feeling close!

Classic conversion van. I dig the design style.

Also, well done on your timeline, so far. How about a weekend camp out? Bring some regular gear. Joshua Tree is easy.

Very nice Speedseth, very functional and, I think, esthetically pleasing.
