Hello from Maryland!

Hello everyone! After lurking for a bit to soak up as much information as possible we pulled the trigger on a 2003 E450 shortie (5 window). I already appreciate the wealth of information on here and will continue to do so as I move through the build process. My intent is to make this thing a steel tent on wheels foregoing many luxuries. First up will be removing the roof emergency exits and rear A/C. My shop has 10 ft doors and without those items I can get it indoors to begin sanding/painting and gutting the interior. More to come over the next few months.

Maryland is humid! You sure you don't want AC while driving around?

You aren't kidding - MD is definitely humid! If the rooftop unit worked I think it would be a different story. However I will say this, I do plan on doing simple trouble shooting on the unit. If I'm able to easily get it up and running plans might change. If kept I'll just be bummed that I can't get it into my building. I'd like to keep it out of the elements (roof leaks around emergency exits).

I hope *that* isn't the building you want to park your Skoolie within!
Because you're completely right: the A/C nacelle has gotta go!
I hate to agree, but also the e-hatches.
And it appears also the top window row latitude, too...
Has anyone else considered a roof reduction?
.
Seriously, nice looking bus!
I really like that window forward of the door.
I may have to attempt a retrofitment

Haha yeah Matt, even with all the chopping in the world I could never get it through those doors. Pole building/shop is facing the front of the bus. On the drivers side of the bus there is also 'one car' storage area where I ran some power 2 years ago. Bus is parked there for now so I can run an extension cord to keep batteries charged. Also, we're slated to get 4 days of rain starting Thursday so in my travels over the weekend I stopped by HF and picked up a large tarp. Plan is to keep it top covered until I can get some 16 ga metal and get the roof sealed up properly - thanks for the compliment on the bus. I'm looking forward to messing around with it!
