Hello from New Hampshire

Hello all,
My wife and I just spent the past year renovating our home when we learned that we would need to relocate for work to Maryland.

We bought our current home because of the land and planned on living here and slowly fixing it up over the next 10-20 years. Well long story short that wasn't in the cars and we worked tirelessly to do all our own renovations.

The house is now on the market and looks like it will sell fast, certainly before we would be ready to commit to a house in Maryland.

We live with an 85lb pup and have pretty much ruled out renting. My wife came up with the idea that maybe we should fix up a bus that can be our home while we find a more permanent solution/renovate the next house (it would have been so much easier to renovate this house if we didn't have to work around all of our stuff).

I was surprised at my wife's suggestion, but it makes a lot of sense. In addition to living in it full-time while we find/renovate a place in Maryland, down the road, the bus would allow us to travel more easily with the dog (Im thinking a few trips a year to Florida for scuba diving...hmm maybe the bus will need a compressor ).

We have learned quite a bit by doing our own renovations.

I think we are excited about the prospect of renovating a bus, if for no other reason than seeing things come together much faster, bus sqftage vs 3900 sqft house...

We are reading as much as we can, everything we learn leads to an additional question, like bus flex and tile backsplash in kitchen and shower (I think we will avoid anything involving thinset).

But, the most important question on our minds right now, and the first one we sure would be appreciative of your guidance with, is of the available options in our area (coaches & buses) where should we spend our dollars. We would rather focus our efforts on the non-mechanical aspects of the reno/conversion, but we do not want to pay an arm and a leg either.

Here are some of the listings that have so far caught my eye for one reason or another. (Btw, if I need to make a new thread elsewhere for advice, please let me know).

Thank so much everyone. We are glad to be here and we are so appreciative of your help. We will need to move fast as if our house sells in the next few weeks, that would give us an additional 6 weeks give or take for final closing, so we are planning on 8 weeks and may try to negotiate a later move date so we can be farther along on our conversion but either way, if we are doing this we will need to get going.
