Hello from Northern British Columbia

I live in Prince George and there are buses for sale 500 to 600 km away. I'm wondering if there is anyone near Terrace BC that could check out these buses for me. Also if I buy the 2 1997 International "smiley" buses I need a storage space. All help welcome.
Gordon

Last being strange winter started late and finished early. People still were able to use their sleds.

Hello again, I just got off the first phone call with the guy that has the 2 "twin" busses. Both buses are far from an MVI. The seller figures I can truck them to where I am then "play" with them to get 1 running. Not a drive/fly there to drive home. He said it may cost 5000.00 to get 1 through MVI. 😣

I have been in contact with a fellow that has a 1974 chevrolet 7 window for sale. Is there anything I should be looking for when I look at it that would be a deal breaker.

In my research figured out a 13 digit vin, did not see any pictures of this size or style. Figured out this bus shares mid size Chevrolet truck parts. Figured out insurance and loan payments. Starting late in life, lol

The adventure begins.
My first vehicle purchase, my first skoolie. Learning so much, what a learning curve.
Anyway, planning a long greyhound bus trip (20+hrs)
Pictures to come.

Following your thread as Im hoping to grab my skoolie late this fall and I'll be a single female going in blind and mostly not-so-smart mechanically.
Ive been told, Im not sure how accurately, to try and get an ex school board bus in, BC especially. Apparently they are very well maintained and generally pretty cheap as they are retired at 10-15 yrs.
They also don't get picked up as crummies much like they do here in AB (Im from BC...born in PG actually)

Im hoping to possibly score one of these at auction.
Not sure if that helps you at all?

That's a sweet looking bus! Do you have any specs? Engine, transmission, etc..?

The guy told me it "has a 350 with 4 bolt main"
Hmmm I'm not going with that because other this have been "curber" sales talk. A C60 came with a 366, it has a 2 barrel intake, 1 single battery, none factory propane system, 10 bolt Rear axle, 5 bolt front hubs, "milk jug" radiator overflow tank, looks like interior panels mostly screwed in place where the exterior panels have different types of rivets. The floor behind the wheel wells is roten. I was told the brakes are hydraulic, the lines from the master cylinder are rusted and I did not see a booster.
All gauges are imperial, they show readings not sure if they are accurate. The automatic gear selector is right in my left knee. I might look into moving it.

"I'm home" I had to fill the propane tank (50 gal) 3 times to get home. The price for propane ranged from a high of 1.159 ltr to .589 ltr. A ltr is equal to 0.264172 US gal. Also on the way the "Y" pipe broke, had to open the windows to drive it. Can you say noisy.

So that works out to about 38.5l/100km (6.1mpg)? That's not so bad for a propane bus engine. I would have expected worse

If you can hit all those stops that are $0.58/litre then you'll be laughing!

Try looking for id numbers on the engine block. 😣 block might have been "decked". My signal lights stopped working few blocks from home. Need to look into wiring diagram. Took a look behind switch panel, nothing labeled, it will be.

Anyone know a good resource for the wiring of a 1974 C60 blue bird?

Oh something more. Out of Province vehicle....needs inspection to be insured and registered. Hard getting a 13 digit vin researched by inspection agents.
