Hello from Ohio

Hi folks. Total newbie here from Northeast Ohio. A quick thanks to everyone who has contributed already to my "lurking" gained knowledge.

I'm sure I'll have 2 million questions, and assure you all that any newfound knowledge will not only be gratefully accepted, but shared as I embark upon this journey.

We are going to rehab a school bus and plan a trip through the contiguous 48.

While I'm a newbie here, I am a veteran of online forums, respect your rules, look forward to learning and hopefully contributing.

My girlfriend is likely to retire, while I'll keep working a few years -- something I can do from the road. Our finances are right (haha, well right enough for this anyway lol) and this is our dream. We decided to make it happen!

Welcome! I'm looking at doing the same trip myself, and searching for the bus that'll get me there. Do you have a bus already, or shopping for one? Is trip planned for a certain time or are you working on the bus without a set deadline?

Still researching the right bus.

The plan, as it is now, is to have a bus this summer, fall at the latest. Spend the winter and spring building it out. Then hit the road next year.

Still building the itinerary, but the idea is about 16,000 - 18,000 miles, 9 months. Head northeast out of the Cleveland area in the late summer, see the fall colors in New England. Be in the south and west during the winter/spring.

I used this as a starting point, but modified it, adding a few thousand miles.
