Hello...Help..

Hey how is it going guys? New to the group and wanted to say hello. I am a 24yr. old and really against the idea of paying ridiculous amounts for rent for next unknown amount of years until I would build a home. I am from Virginia but will be building/storing the bus on a buddy's land in NC. Have been buying books and printing out threads from this great site but any advice that you wish you had from the jump would be appreciated. Any horror stories or pitfalls that a newbie good avoid would be amazing. Thanks, take care.

The real horror story is finding insurance and somewhere foolproof to keep a bus.

Well I have at least a place to store and build it so that is a big plus. I figured insurance would be a pain to get. I see you are a fellow east coaster, any experience getting insurance in VA or NC. (Understandable if you don't want to say where you are from).

Thanks for the welcome Jolly Roger. I am going to be in Gates County, which is a few hours north, but it would be nice to check a converted bus in person. I won't be down there for a couple more months but will certainly try to set something up when I get down there. How did getting insurance go in NC and who did you end going with? The more I read the more nervous I get about building this thing and not being able to drive it.
