Hello Skoolies! -Green Mountain, NC

My wife and I have been looking for a while at schoolbus options and wherever I look, it is hard to find the height of the interior of any given bus. I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'9". Am I going to have trouble without lifting the roof in any particular make or style? Is the interior height the same in all school busses? It seems to me that Crowns have taller ceilings, but that may just be imaginary from looking at interior pics. Any help is greatly appreciated. What a great resource for doing this. Thank You - Retread.

A high headroom model may give you 6'4"-6'6" of headroom. But if it were me, I'd plan on a raise anyhow.

I am 6'1 and my bus is 6'2 down the middle. I don't think about it and it doesn't bother me. I don't bump my head since most of the side areas are for sitting, bed, toilet, dining, couch. It depends on the layout and your own comfort.

I'm 6ft & my head would just touch the roof of my crown in the very center

6'2"

Thanks. I had a house once with a 5'10" ceiling and I do not want to relive that nightmare again.

Yo! I am working on a 1984 IH/Thomas body, and the center height is 6'1". Im 5'9" and it works, but i am planning on raising the roof somehow. I wanted to do some sort of "trolley style" look, but that may be beyond me...and its too expensive to hire out. Im also thinking of welding a vehicle body up there, like an extended van....but so far im just building the interior. Will live with it for a bit, then do something with the roof.
