I'll dig up information on the internet and try to figure it out myself. If not, I can always pay the local shop, but it will probably be 3x more expensive.

It's definitely a Ford. See here: Automotive Belts & Hose Vin Decoder | Gates Corporation

Your particular VIN (1FDWE45F9YHB5542 ) decodes as follows:

Manufacturer Ford Motor Company

Make Ford
Model Year
2000
Model Econoline (Super Duty)
Engine Series
V-8 7.3L
Engine Capacity V8, 7.3L - Turbo
Fuel Type Diesel
Vehicle Type Van
Country United States

So unless I'm milking without a bucket, that's basically a T444E, aka a 7.3 liter, which was a very reliable motor in the smaller busses and big pickup trucks. It's a workhorse. It's Ford's rebranding of an International design. And the mileage is basically nothing... just getting broken-in.

If they maintained this bus, kept it fed with clean oil, and there is no rust, that could be a very good deal.

Thank you for the info

I had researched the VIN# as well and verified that it was indeed a ford.
People in this forum have mentioned that the 7.3 is a good engine.
I spoke with a local diesel mechanic and he also mentioned the "not even broken yet" in reference to the mileage.
Let's just pray to the God of RUST to spare this one. Lol
