The members here are a fount of knowledge! But a project of this magnitude takes time and money. And a lot of hard work. I have spent close to 7 years on my bus, (i do have a tendancy to overbuild). I have worked 60 hour weeks for years, so the time is harder to come by than the $. But it is a huge commitment.

My family is really looking forward to finally using the bus.

Good luck with your project.

Hi Samantha, welcome!! I'm also single and converting my skoolie by myself Yup, just these two hands and lots of coffee.... On occasion my son comes over to lend a hand. I'm not into the good stuff of the build yet... just gutting it out at this stage. It's so nice to meet another single lady doing it by herself. You'll have many trials and some days wonder why you even started this in the first place.... so my word of advice to you is....take each day as it comes... ONLY think about what you're working on right now and try not to think about all that's left to do. I've been at it for 3 months and so far I've gotten the seats out, took all of the rivets out from the ceiling and walls... took the walls out along with the insulation and am in the process of taking down the ceiling and the old fiberglass insulation...and working on the rust. If you don't have a grinder, get one because it will become your best friend!!! I use a Ryobi 4-1/2" grinder and i love it.
My completion date was initially in March but reality hit so my new date will probably be late Spring/early Summer
Ok, I've babbled on long enough but if you want to talk, just PM me you'll also meet alot of genuinely nice people willing to help

Hello Sam. Welcome to "THE CRAZIES" from South Texas. When you're ready to ask a ton of questions, don't hesitate. Be for warned though, sometimes you will get so many answers, you'll feel like you need to reinvent the wheel. LOL..... HAPPY BUILDING !!!!
