Question Hi! New Member with question about my Skoolie...

Hi Guys! My name's Adriana and I'm looking for some advice on what to do with my skoolie. We purchased one from a wonderful couple that converted it themselves. For the most part it was functional (could boondock up to 2 weeks) and about 85% done. However 2 years in and our plans changed, so we ended up storing it in a lot in NJ.

Long story short, over time things have started breaking down and now we are not sure whether to scrap it or try and sell it. It still mechanically runs fine and I personally feel that in the right hands it can be fixed beautifully. With that being said here's the info of the bus along with what needs to be fixed.....

BUS INFO:
  • 1990 Bluebird All American
  • 40ft. Flat Nose
  • 6 New Tires (when we got it in Dec 2019 - Haven't driven it much since then)
  • New Alternator (when we got it)
  • 3 New Batteries
  • 2400 Watt Solar Array (pulls in about 300Watts /day)
  • Cummins 8.3 Turbodiesel
  • Automatic Transmission
  • Air Breaks
  • Insulated Subfloors
  • Spray foam insulated ceilings & walls
  • Tropicool on Roof
  • 100 gallon water storage
  • 40 gallon grey water tank
  • Rear View Camera
  • Tow Hitch
  • Utility Closet
  • Space under bus to install storage units
  • Drive - RWD
  • Fuel - Diesel
  • Miles - about 65k on odometer but really it's closer to 110,000
  • Registration - RV/Motorhome

Kitchen:
  • Ikea cabinets (plus baby locks installed)
  • double sink
  • washer/dryer combo
  • 9.6 Cubic ft Refrigerator & freezer (also baby lock installed)
  • Propane RV stove
  • Cubic Mini Wood Stove

Bedroom:
  • queen size bed with shelving & closet for storage

Living Room:
  • 2 couches with memory foam seating that folds out into a bed (between full/queen)

Bathroom:
  • Separate shower & toilet area (no sink)
  • Water saving shower head
  • Nature's Head Composting Toilet

Things that need fixing:
  • the inverter won't work (but the battery and solar panels were fine last we checked)
  • the hot water heater cracked and needs to be replaced
  • the water pump stopped working
  • a small area of the front dashboard, floor & stepwell still needs flooring (the rest of the bus has wood laminate flooring)
  • it needs a proper defogger for the windshield
  • it needs better insulation
  • Some minor fixes like outlets that don't have the plates on them and are still hanging out of the wall (1 or 2 of these)
  • The steering wheel *might be a little loose* (my bf thought it was originally)
  • The odometer mileage is off
  • The Fuel Gauge also seems a bit off
  • Side mirrors might need a little tightening/securing
  • No Ac & only has some space heaters & the Cubic Mini for heat
  • Washer/dryer combo just needs to be properly hooked up (everything's there and ready we just never hooked it up because we never needed it)

THE BIGGEST PROBLEM THOUGH? WE LOST THE ONE KEY WE HAD TO START IT

So now we're trying to see what our options are but we aren't sure if it's worth the time and energy to sell it or would scrapping it be easier? What would you do?

For those of you that would sell it, what are your thoughts on pricing? We paid I think 21 -22k for it, ofc we don't expect to recoup that but I do want to be fair in my pricing considering there is still more money that would have to be put into the bus...
