I bought a BUS?!!!

Hello all, my name is Jeff. I thought I'd join the forum because yesterday I bought a 2000 International Bus Conversion. Three weeks ago I never dreamed I'd do such a thing; but I guess when I came across it, I just couldn't let this little gem go to some other family.

I have zero experience with motor-homes or buses, so I'm hopeful this is a welcoming and helpful community.

Of course I understand that forums need pictures to make it more fun, so I will work on getting some pics. posted soon.

I hardly slept last night... I can't believe I bought a bus. Tell me I'm not crazy!

Welcome.
Did you do your due diligence, and find places to keep it, someone to insure it, etc?
These aren't something to buy willy-nilly...
Crazy? maybe but we're a bag of mixed nuts here already!

Busses are awesome. Don't let anyone be a negative-nancy and bring you down.

Pics or it didn't happen.

Oh you're going to be slightly consumed by ideas now... Hahaha
Congrats! So is it a fully functioning conversion?

Negativity and realism are not the same thing.

As for diligence, yes. I have space to keep it in my yard, and I made sure it was titled as a motor-home and insurable. Insurance wasn't the easiest to come by, but GMAC (National general) insured it very reasonably.

It is a full functioning conversion. It needs a couple small repairs though. Dash cluster is out, turn signals aren't blinking, and windshield has a crack.

Will always remember the summer I bought the bus as the summer I got the worst flu ever. Been sidelined since I bought it, so haven't had a chance to really "dig in." Feeling better, and finally got around to those pics. This be me new bus.

Looks like a REALLY awesome bus. I love vessel sinks. I put one in the bathroom in my house.

Is that HOW you bought it? Great job on the conversion. Looks professional not quite something I'd enjoy hanging in Too structured for me. I like the more hippie look & flaws (not that us Hippies had any flaws).

What are you still looking to do?

Yup, met the gentleman that did the conversion three summers ago. Loved it so much I've been keeping my eye open for a bus to convert myself. He pulled into the campground this year and put the for sale sign in the window. I said, "your killing me." He offered to take my pop-up camper in part trade... SOLD. I spend a couple weeks a year at Michigan's Silver Lake Sand Dunes. I'll use this to pull my Jeep there. About a 200 mile trip. What am I going to do to it? Figure out how everything works, some maintenance and whatever cool ideas I can find on this forum. Really need to do some homework on diesels as I've never owned one. Good thing my buddy works for Cummins as a diesel mechanic... teehee... I haven't showed him yet.

Conversion

Love it. Loads and loads of class!!! I'm looking for conversion shops and having no luck. When I Google all I get is buses to be converted. If you know of any I would love to hear. There must be others out there like your guy that are willing to do the work. I know you are going to have a great time in yours. Have you decided on your first trip?

I love your bus. It's the perfect size. I'm looking for something just like it in terms of size and the layout is wonderful. Would you give me the specs on your bus?

I'm a newbie.
