I got a Box! (Bus)

Hi all! Long time listener, first time caller. I have been educating myself about tiny living for many years now. Originally I was looking to build a tiny house trailer but the idea of converting a school bus seems like even more fun. I want something to vacation in with my three kids for a few years and then maybe retire into it full time after they are all out of the house.

I've been looking for just the right bus for about two years now. Watching auctions, websites, classifieds and local churches, etc. Somehow the stars aligned... I had the money, the time to look at it, pick it up, and the right bus came along. I now own a school bus. I would love to say I stole it but I didn't... had to pay for it. I am now a Madman with a box!

I look forward to the build but more than that I look forward to this community. I wasn't able to make the recent Florida meet up but I hope I'll make the next one. Seems like there a lot of builders here in Florida.

My bus (not yet named) is a 2005 Bluebird, All American, RE 8.3L Cummins with an Allison MD3060. Maybe not everybody's first choice but it was everything I was looking for (except I would have liked a lift too).

I am not in a rush to complete the build but so far I have the seats and the floor out and about half of the interior walls out. I already do not like rivets!

I am excited to be a part of this community!

May the 4th be with you all!

Welcome Badwolf

You sound deviant enough to fit in here. Looking forward to seeing your build progress.

That's a nice bus. Good luck and welcome to the madhouse. I find that even though I don't have a ton of time to work on my bus, I obsess about it.
