Also, that lock and hasp is as only secure as the 3 carriage bolt heads on the left hasp that evaporate in less than a minute with a battery grinder.
This is known because I had the same setup on a storage container and it took me less than a minute to grind the carriage bolt heads off with a Dewalt battery grinder..
When the hasp was reinstalled allthread was welded into the hasp and ground flush so nothing to grind off to defeat it. That Master lock is still junk IMHO.
Good luck

Hmm, makes me think I should WELD these hasps in place, so it's more than mere bolts holding them in place. And better locks, which I've seen for this setup. Peace!

Welding a DIY Back Step and Propane Tank Rack
As you might imagine, my main hopes for the new propane tank rack are that 1) the tanks never burst into flames and explode, and 2) the bottles never fall off and go rolling off down the highway.

That same battery grinder will go through that hasp arm just as fast it took on the carriage bolts. If they want to get it, they will get in.

I completely agree ... the easiest access is likely the many windows, any of which can be smashed in a second ... but I like to keep the low-risk, low-IQ burglars away

Wireless Backup Camera Installed
Among other things, I managed to get the wireless backup camera running in the bus this week:

Prison Bus Gets a Roof Deck / Cargo Rack
Full build video is on YouTubes. I see why people like the views up there ... what a nice feel to be on solid "ground" atop the bus.

Hey, Spencer, your videos are great! Your build is coming along really nicely, and I've found your ideas inspiring. I think it was your flip-over bench that inspired me to build one. Best of luck and keep up the good work.

Thanks! It's cool to hear that you made a similar bench! Woohoo

Skinning Windows
In the end, I'm not sure if it was a good idea to skin a few windows in my bus with sheet metal. I mean, it wasn't necessary. But then, it helps obscure the works inside (a shower; some shelves).

Sewing Cushion Covers on the Prison Bus
I'm not the best sewer/upholsterer, but it was a fun process:

Looks good, and undoubtedly smells better than the sewer/black tank...

Hi all -- This bus conversion has been quite an experience. What I thought would take a few months ended up spooling off into years, and it became bigger and better than I'd ever imagined. Having built plenty of structures before, I still learned so, so much building out this bus. Here is a final tour video for y'all. The prison bus is moving on to a cool guy who will likely have a great time on board.
