I'm Ready To Convert A Mini Bus

Hey gang,

My girlfriend and I are ready to take the leap and join the Skoolie community. We live in Los Angeles, CA and want to take weekend road trips along the coast and to national parks like The Grand Canyon & Yellowstone. We are looking at a 2002 Ford E450 mini-bus with a Diesel engine for $5500.

We're looking at framing out the walls with metal studs, using foam board installation, adding Solar panels, a composting toilet, queen size bed and a hammock bed for guests.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks In Advance!

Welcome!
Thats a fairly high price-unless its very low mileage or in somehow super shape. You might what to keep looking if you have time.

Yes his asking price is way too high. I want to take a look at it and see if there's enough square footage. But not ready to buy my first option.

Our 24' shuttle bus is 7.5' wide and has 16' of floor space behind the driver's seat (120 sf). there's usually plenty of head room in the shuttle buses. The 7.3L Ford Powerstroke diesels (1999 - 2003) are good engines but be wary of the later 6.0L diesels which had many problems.
